I was getting dressed in my bathroom when I heard Madeline wake up. It was a little earlier than normal, which was good because we were needing to leave soon. I was going to drop the kids off at my friend's house and then head to the doctor.
I could tell Madeline had gone into Ethan's room, so I kept getting ready. That's when I heard Ethan start to cry. "Mom, you need to come in my room RIGHT NOW Mom." His crying was a hopeless kind of crying, not the angry or fake kind.
When I stepped into his room, I felt like crying too. Madeline had had a major diarrhea blow out. And it was all over the off-white carpet and Ethan's bean bag chair and blankets. It was all over.
By the time I scrubbed the carpet and put laundry in the wash and Madeline in the bath, it was time to go. No breakfast. If you know me, you know how big of a deal that is. :) I dropped off Ethan and Madeline went with me.
Once at the doctor's office, I went to check-in and got a blank stare. "Oh! No one told you?! No one called you? You've been bumped. Your appointment has been changed until next week."
I drove home wondering how much nicer the morning could have gone had they remembered to mention to me that my appointment had been changed.
So now the kids are watching shows, and so I decided to sew myself "the simple skirt". Maybe not the most flattering of all patterns, but hey, it has put a smile on my face.
Because it doesn't smell like poop, and it didn't tell me I couldn't wear it until next week!

oh man. mornings like that are terrible! And diarrhea on the carpet is pretty much the worst thing that could possibly happen. ever. makes you want to just rip up the carpet and buy new. whats a few hundred dollars at that point?
Sewing is always good. I sewed two toilet seat covers for when we decide to give potty training a go again. This time no rash! I had to make up the pattern but it ended up alright. It will keep his bum off of whatever he's allergic to and that's all i want. kinda funny the things i gotta do to keep this kid rash free.
Oh Rachel! Hope she is better tomorrow and everyone is well! So sorry for the mess.
It was fun to catch up on your last two weeks now that I'm back home. It sure was fun to see you while we were there!
Sorry this day was so hard. :( Hope your week gets better!
Oh by the way, do you have the link to the shoe pattern? They are really cute! I'd love to learn to make those.
I would cried at the poop and quit right there. You rock. You went right on and made yourself a skirt to boot. Way to go.
Oh no!! So sorry. When it rains it pours. Ugh I would be so annoyed that they didn't call
