Today I hosted play group. It was supposed to be from 10-11:30 this morning and no one came. Ethan stood at the window looking out and watching for people from 10-10:30. During that time, these are the things he said:“Where is everybody? I thought they were coming.”
“Hello . . . is anybody coming to my house? . . . I hope so.”
“Hmmm, I don’t see anybody Mom.”
“But somebody will come, I think.”
At about 10:30, I looked at Ethan and said, “I don’t think anybody is going to come sweetie.” Ethan immediately replied, “Well somebody should! I wonder where they are.”
It’s kind of sad that everyone is so busy doing their own things that we can’t even take an hour out of each week to stop and talk and play with neighbors and friends. I realize that since I’m not on the ward directory, neither address nor phone, that maybe people just didn’t know where to go. Either way, it was hard to explain to Ethan why no one came over to play with his toys that he so lovingly helped my get ready this morning.
There is a bit of good news though, because of our preparation, my house is now very clean and my family has an entire batch of oatmeal raisin cookies to enjoy.
I hope for a better turn out next week! I have enjoyed the play groups I've been to in the past.

I would have been there in a heartbeat. Reagan would have loved it. I hope it works out better next's time.
So sorry! It is hard enough on me when people don't show when you think they will let alone when it happens to my kids to! :( Is it Spring break there? It is here, that could have had something to do with it
OH NO! NO ONE CAME??? I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY RACHEL! MY LITTLE JAKOB WAS CONGESTED THIS MORNING (AND STREP HAS BEEN RUNNING IN MY FAMILY BIG TIME!!!) SO I DECIDED TO NOT EXPOSE HIM TO THE OTHER KIDS EVEN THOUGH I REALLY WANTED TO COME! I KNOW MARIANNE IS IN DISNEYLAND AND SHELLEY HAD TO TAKE HER LITTLE GUY TO THE DOCTOR. DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE...IT WAS PROBABLY JUST A BAD WEEK??? CAN WE PLAY AGAIN? JAKE IS FEELING MUCH BETTER TONIGHT. WHAT IS YOUR FRIDAY LIKE? MAYBE WE CAN COME PLAY OR YOU GUYS CAN COME PLAY HERE!?!?!
NOTICE THE CAPS...TRYING TO GET THE POINT ACROSS THAT I REALLY DO FEEL AWFUL AND YOUR COOKIES LOOK SCRUMPTIOUS. (SAVE ME ONE...OR TWO!) LET ME KNOW IF FRIDAY MIGHT WORK GIRL! IF SO, YOU TELL ETHAN WE HAVE A PLAYDATE!!!! :)
