Butterfly Cupcakes

Madeline's birthday was an entirely wonderful day. And since I haven't finished sorting through the 200+ pictures that I took, I thought I'd first post some pictures of her birthday cupcakes:

I could never have made these without the help of my husband. He helped me late Sunday night make all the wings for the butterflies. Without him, I would have been up all night doing them.
I would make the outline, Todd would fill in the yellow, then I would bang the pan to smooth it out, and add the sprinkles. I don't know what he thought, but I thought it was really fun!

And I like how they turned out! Madeline loved them too. She spent the majority of the day yesterday talking about her pink cupcakes.

All I can say is....WOW!

The things we do for our little kids. I made a Barbie cake for Cathy when she was three. I used a regular Barbie Doll and had to make the cake dress, complete with roses all around. She does remember it.

You did a great job.

I concur....WOW! Those are UH-MAY-ZING! And Todd is a good Daddy/Hubby to help you like that.

what awesome cupcakes!! I'm glad you share the obsession of making confectioner treats in such lovely presentations only just to eat them moments later. If grandma Morris saw those she would have all sorts of stuff to say...silly grandma. she doesn't catch the vision.

FYI--the wings are made from colored chocolate...found at Hobby Lobby in every color imaginable,
